Accounts Chamber Checks NGO State Support Council
Baku/01.03.21/Turan: The Accounts Chamber has begun checks at the Council for State Support of NGOs, and the public will be informed about the results of the check.
In the state budget for 2021, the Council for State Support of NGOs is expected to allocate 6.3 million manats. These funds should be aimed at providing financial assistance to NGOs in achieving the goals of "strengthening civil society", "sustainable development," solving socially significant problems.
The NGO State Support Council was established in December 2007. Its permanent leader is Deputy Azay Guliyev. The council provides support, as a rule, to NGOs supporting the authorities.
It is not known what caused the current check.
Earlier, the Accounts Chamber conducted a similar check in the Council for the Support of the Media, where large thefts and misappropriations were revealed. As a result, the head of this structure, Vugar Safarli, was arrested. He is accused of embezzlement and misappropriation of more than 6 million manats. -0-
