Advisor to the head of "Musavat" party is detained in Lankaran

Adviser to the head of the party "Musavat", Yadigar Sadiqov, was arrested  in Lanakaran region.

According to the deputy chairman of  "Musavat", Gulaga Aslanli,  Sadigov was summoned to the local police in connection with the incident on June 25. At this time, the police received a call from the Interior Ministry, and Sadigov was told that he is to be detained, and appear in court tomorrow.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Orkhan Mansurzade, reported that Sadigov was summoned to the police in connection with the investigation of a criminal case under  the Article 221.3 (hooliganism.)

A complaint against Sadigov was written by a second group disabled of the  Karabakh war, Rashid Karimov. Allegedly, Sadiqov and two other men beat him on June 25.

According to  Mansurzade, investigation is  ongoing, and the arrest of Sadigov will depend  on the results of investigation.

Earlier Sadiqov denied any conflict with Kerimov and claimed that the authorities are preparing a provocation against him.

The cause of the pressure on Sadigov could be his political activity, and, in particular, the preparation of a trip  of the leader of "Musavat" Isa Gambar in Lankaran in January of this year. Then the authorities  had a real military operation  in order to prevent the trip. -16D-
