Ali Hasanov worries about Britain
Official Baku did not like the criticism of the CE Secretary General, Jagland Tornborn, published in the British newspaper "The Guardian" about human rights violations in Azerbaijan. In particular, the head of the department of the Presidential Administration, Ali Hasanov, refused the statements by Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
"In some cases, international organizations, including the Council of Europe put pressure on individual states - members of the organization. Artificial exaggeration of the issue on "political prisoners", unfounded, biased statements, attempts to blacken Azerbaijan cause damage to the cooperation within the Council of Europe, and undermines the credibility of the organization," Hasanov told the Azertaj Agency.
The views expressed in the article by Jagland "some statements are the result of the effects of certain anti-Azerbaijani forces, and are unreasonable, subjective judgments." The laws of Azerbaijan, and international law does not provide for the privilege to exempt from criminal liability for the representatives of some professions.
