Aliyev and Berdymukhammedov are satisfied with the results of the negotiations
Baku / 22.11.18 / Turan: After the signing bilateral documents in Ashgabat on November 22, the presidents of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan made statements to the press. Berdymukhammedov said that the positions of the two countries coincide on many issues and the parties will continue to coordinate steps and mutual support in the UN and other international organizations. The sides reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation in the Caspian on the principles of good neighborliness, equality, mutual respect, and consideration of the interests of all Caspian littoral states. "The cooperation of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan on all issues of the Caspian agenda is the key to an effective, mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership, the implementation of major infrastructure projects, ensuring environmental balance," said the head of Turkmenistan.
The parties agreed to closely cooperate and coordinate efforts in creating transport and transit corridors along the East-West line through the territories of the two countries. The ports of the two countries in the Caspian - Turkmenbashi and Baku/Alat will play this important role. Among the priority areas are energy, transport and communications, the agro-industrial complex, the chemical and textile industry, construction, technology, services and a number of others, the head of Turkmenistan said.
Ilham Aliyev noted that the current visit will occupy a special place in the history of relations between the two countries. "Over 20 documents signed. This is an indicator of the level of our relationship and brotherly relationship to each other. Only with a close country can we work in such different directions," said Aliyev.
He expressed the readiness of Azerbaijan to increase trade between the countries, increase exports from Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, and vice versa. "Modern infrastructure, large investments in the transport sector create excellent working conditions. We will certainly see a growing transit between our countries along the East-West, West-East route," said Aliyev. -02D-
