Baku / 25.08.20 / Turan: Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who arrived in Baku today, held talks with President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the press service of the head of state, during the conversation they touched upon bilateral relations and issues of regional security.
Ilham Aliyev noted that he recently had a telephone conversation with Putin, during which certain questions were raised. Other details about the meeting between Aliyev and Shoigu were not disclosed.
During the conversation, Aliyev raised questions to Putin about the supply of 400 tons of weapons to Armenia during the days of hostilities in the Tovuz direction (July 12-16).
President Ilham Aliyev said that the purpose of the Armenian provocation was to involve the CSTO in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. At the same time, the intensity of deliveries of military supplies from Russia to Armenia "causes concern and serious questions among the Azerbaijani public." Aliyev noted that this issue is the main reason for calling Putin.
It should be mentioned that a significant part of the weapons supplied to Armenia during this period were intended to combat drones (electronic warfare systems) and other types of military equipment. -02D-
