Aliyev congratulated Steinmeier on German Unity Day occasion
Baku/03.10.23/Turan: Head of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the occasion of the German Unity Day celebrated on October 3.
"We attach great importance to the development of friendship and cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and Germany," Aliyev said in his message.
The Azerbaijani President notes with satisfaction "the active and effective cooperation of the two countries in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres."
Azerbaijan is determined to strengthen relations with Germany and continue mutually beneficial cooperation, Aliyev further emphasizes.
"I am confident that both our interstate relations and our mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the European Union will consistently develop and strengthen," Aliyev's message to the President of Germany reads in conclusion. -06D-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
