Allahshukur Pashazade proposed to create a pan-Islamic fatwa center in Mecca
These days, a conference on the role of Islamic foundations and institutions is being held in Mecca. On August 4, the head of the Caucasus Muslim Board (CMB), Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazade, spoke at the event. He noted that fatwas adopted in the Islamic world should serve the unity of Islam, humanity and brotherhood, interfaith rapprochement, prevent the abuse of religion by certain political forces and the imposition of false values.
"Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazade proposed the creation of an International Fatwa Center of the Islamic World in Mecca to prevent the dangerous consequences of cunningly thought out and planned political games. Decisions taken from a single center and fatwas adopted should serve to eliminate internal conflicts in Islam and create an environment of mutual understanding within the Muslim Ummah," the statement of the CMB a statement.
A fatwa is the conclusion of an authoritative Muslim structure or figure on a particular topic, which has the character of a law. Many Islamic centers claim that the fatwas they issue are crucial. Different interpretations of the same events by different Islamic leaders became subjects of dispute and conflict.
