Almazbek Atambayev surrenders to security forces
Baku / 08.08.19 / Turan: Ex-President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev surrendered to security forces, he was taken out of his residence in the village of Koy-Tash, announced on August 8 the 24.Kg and Fergana Edition.
Together with Atambayev, his companions are in the car: Kunduz Zholdubaeva and Farid Niyazov. The decision to surrender was made following negotiations. The negotiations were preceded by the third assault in two days by the special forces of Atambaev"s residence.
Meanwhile, around the residence, clashes between ex-president supporters and security officials, of which about 2 thousand, continue. No casualties have been reported. It is known about two dead security officials. The fate of the six commandos taken hostage the day before is also unknown. The number of wounded after the clashes on August 7 exceeded 70 people.
The country's authorities opened a series of criminal cases against Atambayev, including especially serious crimes (murder, violence against government officials, and rioting). -02D-
