An Agency of State Control over the use and Protection of Water is being created in Azerbaijan
An Agency of State Control over the use and Protection of Water is being created in Azerbaijan. The corresponding decree was signed on Friday by Head of State Ilham Aliyev.
According to the document, a State Control Agency for the Use and Protection of Waters is being created on the basis of the Hydrological and Reclamation Service and the Water Use Control Department, which are under the jurisdiction of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Reclamation and Water Management OJSC.
The Regional Water Reclamation Service is being formed as part of the new structure. In addition, under the new agency, a Joint Water Supply Service of large cities is being formed through the transformation of “Azersu” OJSC.
The Institute of Land Reclamation and Water Management is turning into a Research Institute of Water and Land Reclamation. Other research institutes of JSC “Azerbaijan Land Reclamation and Water Management” are also being transferred to the new agency.
