Another criminal case initiated in Nakhchivan on state fund embezzlement
Baku/16.01.23/Turan: The Prosecutor's Office of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is investigating the theft of state property by an official of "Nakhchivan Railways" LLC.
According to the Nakhchivan Prosecutor's Office, the investigation found that Ramin Mirzoyev, a former employee of this department, misappropriated a large amount of state funds using his official position.
Ramin Mirzoev was charged under Articles: 179.2.3 (misappropriation of property using official position), 179.2.4 (misappropriation of someone else's property causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
No specific amount of embezzlement is reported, nor is it said about the preventive measures against Mirzayev.
Recall that on December 21 last year, the head of the Supreme Mejlis of Nakhchivan, Vasif Abutalybov who led the region for 27 years, was dismissed from his post.
Immediately after that, arrests of a number of high-ranking officials on charges of embezzlement of state funds began. Total amount in only three cases is estimated at 488 million manats. -16D-

According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.
