Another group of MNS officers is preparing to get into heavy term of imprisonment
Baku/28.09.12/Turan: The trial of the former head of the military counterintelligence department of the abolished Ministry of National Security (MNB), General Nizami Shirinov, as well as the heads of departments of this Ministry: Eljan Abdullayev, Elman Tairov and operative Nadir Nazirov is nearing competion at the Baku military court .
On Wednesday, the prosecutor at the court sitting proposed to sentence Shirinov to 12 years, Abdullayev and Nazirov to 11 years of imprisonment.
As for Tairov, it was proposed to terminate the proceedings due to the expiration of the criminal case.
The state prosecutor called for the arrest of Abdullayev and Nazirov in the courtroom.
It is also proposed to send to the President a submission on depriving Shirinov of the military rank of general and confiscating his property.
Recall that Shirinov was arrested in April last year on charges of extortion by threats, legalization of money and property obtained by criminal means, bribery under aggravating circumstances.
Abdullayev, Tairov and Nazirov were charged under Article 341.2.3 (abuse of power). They had a subscription not to leave.
It ought to be noted that the Ministry of National Security was liquidated in 2015; however, these persons were brought to justice only in April 2021.-16D-
