Another object of attack by authorities - Transparency International and the "fifth column"
Apparently, the next object of attack by the government is the organization Transparency International.
So today's meeting of the Milli Majlis started with the fact that two members - Ali Huseynov and Elmira Akhundova declared bias and sabotage by Transparency Azerbaijan - Transparency International representation in Azerbaijan.
They did not explain the cause. However, Ali Huseynov called all the authorities and MPs not to attend the events of this organization.
At the same time, both the deputies called for the need to combat the "fifth column" without specifying who or what they have in mind.
Next MP Musa Gasymly urged to tighten law on police in light of "the recent violence by Leila Yunus against the police officer”. Apparently the MP meant the incident when the activist threw her cap at the officer who climbed into the bathroom, where Yunus was, despite protests from the woman.
Next spoke Siyavush Novruzov, who said that the U.S. State Department intervenes in the affairs of Azerbaijan and takes its agents under protection, whom it pays fees. At the same time, these funds come from the Armenians, the deputy said.
Next spoke Fazail Agamaly, saying that Yunus receives such funds most of all and "without approval from the authorities” visits foreign countries. This must be stopped.
MP Azay Guliyev, who himself is a representative of the non-governmental sector, resented the fact that Transparence Azerbaijan gave a grant to Leila Yunus and Transparency’s report has negative evaluations of parliament.
Summarizing these statements, the Speaker Asadov shamed Leila Yunus and Rena Safaraliyeva, accusing them of undermining the statehood of Azerbaijan. "Instead of investigations, they are engaged in subversive activities," said Asadov.
We note that recently the head of the department on work with law enforcement agencies of the Presidential Administration Fuad Aleskerov sharply criticized Transparency Azerbaijan, accusing this organization and calling its reports biased against Azerbaijan. -17 -
