Another opposition party refuses to participate in Presidential elections
Baku/25.12.23/Turan: The Classical Party of the People's Front of Azerbaijan (CPPF) has refused to participate in the extraordinary Presidential elections as stating the lack of democratic conditions for the election campaign in the country.
This decision was adopted on 17 December at a session of the Party's Supreme Majlis and approved at the 5th Extraordinary Congress of the CPPF on Saturday.
When election commissions at all levels are under the control of the ruling power and the freedoms are restricted in the country, participation in the elections is meaningless, CPPF chairman Mirmahmud Miraliogly told Turan.
On 15 December, the opposition "Musavat" Party refused to participate in the elections, claiming that there were no conditions for fair competition.
Note that on 16 December, the Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) also decided to boycott the Presidential election, explaining this by the lack of conditions for free and fair elections.-06B-
