ARB 24 Turned into Türkel TV and Got High Status
Baku / 24.09.18 / Turan: On September 24, the broadcasting of the television information channel ARB-24 was stopped in Azerbaijan. The general director of the TV channel Nadir Shafiyev and the editor of this media, the son of the general director Allahverdi Shafiyev are now dismissed," one of the websites said.
The reason for the closure of ARB-24, owned by the ARB media holding, is the emergence of a 24-hour specialized information nationwide television channel in Azerbaijan, a source in this media reported.
A few days ago the chairman of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting Nushiravan Maharramli reported that, by the decision of the Council of December 28, 2017, LLC Türkel TV received an unlimited license for round-the-clock broadcasting as a specialized news television channel. He also informed that the new channel will start working in October 2018, thus the number of all-republican TV channels will reach eleven.
The National Television and Radio Council on November 14, 2017 announced a contest to determine the best TV channel, which will receive an unlimited license for broadcasting as a specialized 24-hour TV. The competition was held from November 16 to December 16, 2017. From the participants - Baku Art Lab LLC, Türkel TV LLC, and Media Master LLC the Council selected Türkel TV, which possesses the best material and technical base and professional staff. The owner of Türkel TV - LLC Türkel TV (Azerbaijan), carried out programs for Baku and Absheron in the Azerbaijani language, on the 31st TV channel. On September 19, 2016, the Türkel TV channel changed its name to ARB 24. Consequently, in December last year, the media holding Türkel TV regained the same-name television channel, previously transferred to the media holding ARB. The returned channel will operate as a nationwide information round-the-clock media resource.
It should be added that the Real TV channel, which was established on the basis of the Information and Analytical Center Reali, started functioning this year, operates in the format of an information television channel and, according to his employee, intends to become round-the-clock with broadcasting in Azerbaijani, Russian and English. The Center and TV channel Real is run by the former editor-in-chief of the closed ANS television channel Mirshahin Agayev. --0-----
