Armenia fails to comply with trilateral statement
Baku/02.12.21/Turan: Armenia has not provided Azerbaijan with all the maps of minefields liberated from occupation. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov said this during a meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council on December 2 in Stockholm.
"This significantly hinders the process of demining and reconstruction, as well as presents a serious barrier to the return of former internally displaced persons to their native lands," Bayramov said.
He noted that since the signing of the trilateral statement on November 10 last year, 180 citizens of Azerbaijan, including civilians and journalists, were killed or seriously injured as a result of mines planted by Armenia.
Bayramov stressed that pressures should be increased on Armenia to provide all the maps of the minefields.
According to the Minister, Armenia continues to violate its commitments
and fails to fulfill requirements of the November 10 statement. For example, Armenia has not completely withdrawn its armed forces from the Azerbaijani territory. Besides, this country delays with restoration of economic and transportation links in the region.
Bayramov believes that at this critical period the joint efforts of the international community are essential to consolidate peace and stability.
To his thinking, the world community has to focus all efforts on full compliance with provisions of the trilateral statement, as well as on cooperating with Armenia and Azerbaijan to build confidence in the region. "The OSCE Minsk Group can also contribute to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the post-conflict context. When adjusted for the changed realities, we urge our colleagues and partners to evaluate new prospective opportunities in the region for development and cooperation and to avail of its advantages," Ceyhun Bayramov noted.-06B-
