Armenia is not involved in the agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Karabakh – Pashinyan
Baku/20.09.23/Turan: The functions of ensuring the security of the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh are now fully entrusted to the Russian peacekeeping contingent, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in his address to his citizens on September 20.
He stressed that Armenia did not take any part in the development of the text of the statement on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"It can be assumed that if the peacekeepers made such a proposal, they fully and unconditionally committed themselves to ensuring the security of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh," Pashinyan said.
He expressed disagreement with the paragraph of the agreement, which refers to the withdrawal of the Armenian Armed Forces from Karabakh. "Yerevan has repeatedly stated that since August 2021 Armenia has no troops in Nagorno-Karabakh," he said.
Touching upon the purpose of the military operation in Karabakh, Pashinyan repeated his words that they wanted to drag Armenia into the conflict in order to achieve the overthrow of the government in Yerevan. ---02D---
