Armenian Foreign Minister goes to talks with Lavrov, Moscow promises active peacemaking
Moscow / 23.05.18 / Turan: On May 23, at the initiative of the Armenian side, a telephone conversation took place between the Foreign Ministers of Russia - S. Lavrov and Z. Mnatsakanyan, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
During the conversation, issues of bilateral relations were discussed, as well as "planned contacts on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement through the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group," it was reported.
In turn, the Armenian media reported that Mnatsakanyan is flying to Moscow for talks with Lavrov.
Today at a briefing in Moscow, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova was asked: is it true that Moscow will step up its role in the Karabakh settlement?
In her response, she noted that "Russia has always played a very active role. We do not have the desire to play some kind of "violin" according to the number order. There is a desire all the same to bring the settlement closer to those methods that are recognized as civilized, and have indeed been tested for their effectiveness. We played a very active role, you know about it. We will continue to do this in close contact with all parties. " -02D-
