On 19 February the Narimanov District Court chaired by Turgay Huseynov held a regular meeting in the case of advisor to the head of the Popular Front Party Mammad Ibrahimov.
The court granted only one of the six defense motions, agreeing to call an expert who gave an opinion on causing a head injury to the victim Mikail Guliyev.
Ibrahimov was arrested on September 30 last year on charges of disorderly conduct (221.1) (Complaint filed Mikyail Guliyev - a former member of the PFPA). Subsequently, this article has been reclassified to a heavier charge on paper - 221.2.2, under which Ibrahimov can be imprisoned to five years.
On February 1 two prosecution witnesses Vugar Abbasov and Elchin Shukurov gave testimonies. They were at the scene, and said that first Ibrahimov attacked Mikyail Guliyev. On February 12 another witness Agshin Akhverdiyev confirmed that Ibrahimov did not beat and did not insult Guliyev. At today's trial another prosecution witness Anar Ismayilov was to give testimonies, but he again failed to appear.
The lawyer Yalcin Imanov offered to read out his statement during the investigation, as other witnesses Ismayilov, like other witnesses said that Ibrahim did not beat Guliyev. The prosecutor opposed this, and the judge did not grant the request of a lawyer.
The lawyer put forward five motions to summon additional witnesses - two witnesses, two police officers and experts who gave the medical report - Siraj Dadashov . The judge granted only last petition.
Dadashov was to hold an independent examination of Mikail Guliyev, but sent him to another doctor, a neurologist, the lawyer explained Tuan agency. Based on the conclusion of the latter Dadashov gave a conclusion on traumatic brain injury. However, there is not a document issued by a neurologist in the case file, so there is a need to hear the expert.
In addition, there are two protocols in the case (29 September and 10 October) about the examination of the shirt which Guliyev wore during the incident. In the first minutes was noted the larger size of the torn shirt torn, than in the second.
"It turns out that then a shirt was sewed ... Although witnesses confirmed that Guliyev attacked Ibrahim, they began to separate them, and Guliyev’s shirt was slightly torn," said the lawyer. The next trial is scheduled for 29 February.

On November 27, an online hearing took place at the Khatai District Court regarding a petition from the defense for the release of Alaskar Mammadli, the founder of Toplum TV, under house arrest. Mammadli has been in custody at Baku’s Detention Center No. 1. The court denied the petition, Mammadli's brother, Nasimi Mammadli.

On November 28, another hearing took place in the case of public activist Ilhamiz Guliyev. During the proceedings, the court reviewed a response from the 28th Police Station of the Yasamal District in Baku. At the previous hearing, the defense had requested that the court obtain footage from the surveillance cameras at this police station, where Guliyev was taken on December 4 of last year. However, the police response stated that the video footage had not been preserved.
