Azerbaijan and Italy strengthen military cooperation
Baku/12.01.23/Turan: On January 12, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov received an Italian delegation led by the Minister of Defense of this country, Guido Crosetto, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported.
During the talks, Hasanov noted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in the field of military education, as well as within NATO, is actively developing . He expressed confidence that the current visit will mark the beginning of a new stage of military cooperation between the two countries.
In turn, Guido Crosetto noted the importance of expanding military cooperation, noting the need for mutual visits in the development of bilateral relations that have the character of a strategic partnership.
Issues of further expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in the military, military-technical fields, in the field of military education, as well as other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
In conclusion, the defense ministers of both countries signed a protocol of intent for cooperation in the field of education and training.
It should be noted that previously the President Ilham Aliyev received the Minister of Defense of Italy, highly appreciated bilateral relations, and spoke in favor of their deepening and expansion, including in the military sphere. ---02D---
