Azerbaijan expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the authorities of the Russian Federation
Baku / 07.03.19 / Turan: The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry informed Russia about the discontent of Baku in connection with the meeting of the so-called "Lazarev Club" in Moscow on March 5-6 with participation of the Karabakh separatists and the Russian officials. The position of Azerbaijan was brought today to the Russian ambassador to Baku, Sergey Bratchikov, who was received by the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
"Such facts contradict the spirit of the regulatory framework of bilateral relations and the mediating role of the Russian Federation," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
As noted in the commentary, the meeting was attended by Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Sergey Glazyev, who conveyed to the participants the greetings of President of Russia Vladimir Putin, as well as the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin.
The Foreign Ministry notes, the participation of high-ranking officials of state bodies of the Russian Federation at the above-mentioned meeting, along with representatives of the illegal regime, grossly violates the obligations of the OSCE MG co-chairing country.
"Once again we urge Russia to fulfill obligations within the framework of bilateral relations; in particular, compliance with the provisions of the Treaty of Friendship; Cooperation and Mutual Security between Azerbaijan and Russia of 1997, according to which "the Parties undertake not to support the separatist movements, prohibit and suppress the activities of individuals against the state sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the other side," reads the comment of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. -06B -
