Azerbaijan sent a third group of firefighters and amphibious aircraft to Turkey
Baku/05.08.21/Turan: The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan sent an amphibious aircraft of Be-200ChS type to Turkey to extinguish forest fires. In addition, the third group of fire and rescue crews of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan left for Turkey today.
The group includes 40 units of fire equipment and 150 firefighters, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Note that a team of 150 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan was divided into two units that entered the flame-engulfed zones in Kavaklider and Mentes in the southwestern province of Mugla.
Earlier, on July 30, the first group of 100 fire and rescue forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived in Turkey.
On July 31, another fire and rescue group went to Turkey which included 1 helicopter, 54 pieces of equipment, as well as 247 personnel.
The day before, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that 187 forest fires broke out in Turkey over the past 8 days, most of which had been localized so far. "15 of them (out of 187 forest fires) are still ongoing, some of these fires have been brought under control," he said.
According to President, 20 planes and 51 helicopters are involved in extinguishing forest fires in Turkey.
Also, the Turkish leader noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced Baku's intention to send another amphibious aircraft to Turkey to extinguish forest fires.
He added that the Turkish law enforcement agencies were carefully investigating causes of the fires.—06D-
