Azerbaijan submitted a note of protest to the Russian Foreign Ministry
Baku/24.10.22/Turan: On October 20-21, on the air of the “Big Game” program on the First Channel of Russia, Russian political scientists and experts of Armenian origin made frankly anti-Azerbaijani speeches, questioning the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and distorted the map of the state. In this regard, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow sent an official note of protest to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia said in a statement.
The Foreign Ministry was informed about biased statements and frank political provocations on the state television which run counter the official position of Russia, repeatedly voiced by the President of the Russian Federation.
This talk show is hosted by Vyacheslav Nikonov, a member of the United Russia faction, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.
"Such behavior of a representative of the ruling party of Russia contradicts the spirit of the Azerbaijani-Russian strategic partnership and allied interaction, and also causes significant harm to bilateral relations," the note says.
In the Declaration on Mutual Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation dated February 22, 2022, the parties refrain from any actions that damage the relations of strategic partnership and alliance, directed against the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states.
The Azerbaijani side demanded that Russia take immediate measures to stop the provocative actions of Russian media representatives and prevent their recurrence in the future. --02D--
