Electric train almost killed a woman
Baku/24.10.22/Turan: On October 24, at about 15:45, the high-speed train "Stadler", following the Sumgayit-Baku route through the Absheron villages, urgently stopped for about 10 minutes on the territory of the Novkhany-Baghlari village. The reason for the emergency braking is an elderly woman crossing the railroad tracks, who was saved from death by a man who pushed her off the road, a witness to the incident, a Turan correspondent, said.
The woman was crossing the rails, entering the railroad track through a hole in the mesh fence made by the locals. Despite the ground pedestrian crossing built nearby, the residents of the village, as well as in other settlements along the train, violated the integrity of the fence and crossed the railway in places convenient for them.
The residents of the village told Turan that there had already been a death at this place, once a train hit a cow grazing along with other animals along the railway track. The local police are not interested in what is happening.
The reason for the tragic accidents is the illegal passages made by residents in the mesh fence. Local residents say that people are forced to cross the road, creating dangerous situations because there are few garbage boxes installed, in order to throw garbage people have to cross the road or throw garbage on the side of the road. There are a few surface pedestrian crossings along the entire road, metal steps are high, not everyone can overcome them. The railroad is not fenced with a concrete or stone fence, but with a light mesh that is easy to cut. Frequent exits of people and animals slow down the movement of trains and make living next to the road dangerous.
