Azerbaijan to increase gas supplies to Hungary to 1 billion cubic meters
Baku/21.08.23/Turan: Baku/21.08.23 /Turan: On August 20, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived on an working visit to Hungary.
The same day, he met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
The talks discussed issues of cooperation in energy and supply of Azerbaijani gas to Hungary, as well as investments in the food and pharmaceutical industry of Azerbaijan.
Also, the issues of participation of Hungarian companies in projects aimed at restoring the liberated territories of Azerbaijan,implementing the regional projects in the field of green energy with the participation of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary, as well as cooperation in the field of transportation were discussed separately.
In turn, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto said in an interview with local media that Baku and Budapest will sign an agreement to increase gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Hungary from 100 million cubic meters to 1 billion cubic meters a year. --02D--

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
