Azerbaijani Ambassador summoned to Iranian Foreign Ministry
Baku/11.11.22/Turan: Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Ali Alizade was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with unfriendly anti-Iranian publications in the Azerbaijani media, IRNA reports.
Assistant Minister and Director General of the Eurasian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Iran conveyed to the Azerbaijani Ambassador the level of discontent and the strong protest of the Islamic Republic of Iran against unfriendly statements by high-ranking officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the black image of the media of this country, and added: "We expect that this process will be stopped as soon as possible, and the necessary measures will be taken to prevent its recurrence."
Azerbaijani Ambassador Ali Alizade expressed regret over the current situation, noting that he would convey the protest of the Iranian side to Baku.
It should be noted that, in fact, a hostile campaign against Azerbaijan was the first to be launched by the Iranian media, which are not shy about open threats, distortions of historical facts, and open disrespect for the Azerbaijani state. This campaign was picked up by Iranian politicians and the military.
Baku's retaliatory step is likely to be the summoning of the Iranian ambassador to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.—06B-
