Azerbaijani Armed Forces to conduct operational-tactical exercises
Baku/10.03.21/Turan: On March 15-18, the Azerbaijani army will conduct operational-tactical exercises with the participation of various types of troops, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported on March 10.
Up to 10,000 servicemen, about 100 armored vehicles, up to 200 rocket and artillery installations, rocket systems and mortars, as well as drones for various purposes will be involved in the exercises.
The exercises will take place in a wooded mountainous area, with a focus on command and control of troops, improvement of combat coordination and interaction between different types of troops - missile, artillery, aviation and Special-purpose Forces.
During the exercise, the troops will carry out tasks to combat terrorist detachments and illegal armed groups, and to conduct counter-terrorist operations. -02D-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
