Azerbaijani Border Guard Killed as Result of Armenian Provocation
Baku / 07.01.20 / Turan: An Azerbaijani border guard was killed on January 7 as a result of a provocation by Armenia on the contact line on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
"The Armenian armed forces carried out another provocation, flagrantly violating the ceasefire on the contact line on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. Border guard Farzali Farzaliyev was killed on Tuesday at 14:56 by an enemy sniper shot in Gushchu Ayrim village in the Gazakh region," the press service of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan said on January 7 in the evening.
The agency also refuted the statement of the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia that the border guard was killed in connection with attempts by the Azerbaijani side to carry out engineering work at the forefront and advance their positions.
“On this site, the divisions of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan did not carry out any engineering work. This statement of the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia is an outright lie and an attempt to justify the flagrant fact of violation of the ceasefire by the units of the Armed Forces of Armenia, and also aims to mislead the public," the State Border Service of Azerbaijan said. –06B-
