Azerbaijani Embassy in Cairo Not Evacuated
"The Azerbaijani Embassy in Egypt is working at full strength and normal mode. There are no decisions for their return home. "This was stated by the head of the press service of the Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev in connection with the evacuation of several embassies in Cairo because of the sharp deterioration of the situation.
According to him, a few days before the embassy of Azerbaijan appealed to the citizens to take measures for their own security. Measures are taken to check the Azerbaijani citizens who arrived in Egypt with a short trip, Abdullayev said.
According to him, there is no information about Azerbaijani citizens injured during the riots.
Earlier, during the events of the "Arab Spring" in Egypt in 2011, the Azerbaijani Embassy employee Nijat Gojayev died.
The situation in Egypt remains tense. In recent days, during the confrontation between supporters of President Mohammed Mursi and his opponents 7 people were killed and more than 200 injured. -16D04-
