Azerbaijani naval forces launch military exercises
Baku/22.06.21/Turan: The Azerbaijani naval forces have launched tactical exercises on June 22 with the participation of warships, support vessels and marines.
The purpose of the exercises is to work out the protection of the energy infrastructure in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea jointly with country's air forces.
The exercises will be held in two stages during which the organization of combat operations and the control of commanders and headquarters of combat operations will be worked out.
At the first stage, ships and boats will destroy enemy surface assets, including mines, as well as organize defense in a certain sector of the sea.
At the second stage, it is planned to work out combat missions to prevent acts of terror and sabotage in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea and provide assistance to a ship in distress.
The exercises will last until June 23. -02D-

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
