Azerbaijani President Liquidates Center for Strategic Studies and Other Departments
Baku / 15.01.19 / Turan: On January 14, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on additional measures to improve public administration in the country.
It provides for the liquidation or reorganization of a number of departments. In particular, the Science Development Fund under the President of Azerbaijan and the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism are reorganized on the basis of self-financing. Along with this, the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources, the Knowledge Fund under the President of Azerbaijan and the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan are liquidated.
Also liquidated or reorganized are the Secretariat of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Protection of State Secrets under the President of Azerbaijan, the Working Group of the Azerbaijan State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, the Working Group of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Person of Azerbaijan, and the Secretariat of the Tariff Council of Azerbaijan. -06d--

On November 13, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Afghan Taliban held talks in Baku as part of the COP29 conference. According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.

She had been accredited in the "Green Zone" as a civil rights activist. From the moment she entered the conference area, a young man began to follow her.
