AzerRos accepts the resignation of Abbas Abbasov
On 31 August the Council of Elders of the Federal National Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis in Russia (AzerRos) accepted the resignation of its chairman Abbas Abbasov at his request. Abbas Abbasov informed the members of the Council of Elders AzerRos that his decision is thoughtful and measured.
The Elder Council appreciated the work of Abbas Abbasov to strengthen the organization and increase its prestige, to unite the Azerbaijani community, reads the message of AzerRos on the organization's website. However, from the message it is not clear who will lead this association of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Russia.
Abbasov resigned from the post of deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan in 2008, and moved to Moscow.
In recent years, pro-government media began to accuse him of plotting a coup, implementing assignments and secret plans of the Kremlin on the change of power in Azerbaijan. These publications were obviously customized character and came from official structures in Baku.
However, the open confrontation with Abbas Abbasov was observed only between AzerRos and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moscow. -02D-

Arrested economist Fazil Gasimov has reportedly faced pressure after protesting the interruption of a phone call with his family on November 16. "The phone call was cut off, and Fazil demanded that the connection be restored. Then, Jalal Alizadeh, a detention center officer, along with his colleagues, forcibly removed Fazil from the phone room in the medical unit of the facility, tearing his jacket and dragging him across the floor before throwing him into a cell.
