Baku and Yerevan accuse each other of the aggravation of the situation on the front line
Baku accused Yerevan of aggravating tension on the front line. "Armenia continues to artificially escalate the situation in order to prevent the change of the status quo and peaceful solution of the conflict," said the press secretary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev. He accused Yerevan of ignoring the initiative of the OSCE chairman Andrzej Kasprzyk and the OSCE Minsk Group on the observance of the ceasefire between Novruz and Easter. "The Armenian side, using heavy weapons, continued heavy fire and deliberately exacerbates the situation on the contact line," said Hajiyev. In turn, the Armenian side accuses Baku of the same. According to the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia Artsrun Hovhannisyan, he accused Azerbaijan of violating the cease-fire with the use of heavy weapons. The personal representative of the OSCE Chairman Andrzej Kasprzyk called on the parties to avoid actions that could lead to increased tensions. However, during this period the tension increased on both sides were killed and wounded, among both military and civilian. -02D-
