Baku /30.10.19 / Turan: Official Baku condemns the resolution of the US House of Representatives No. 296 on the "Armenian genocide", considering it unjust and biased, reads the commentary by the head of the department of international relations of the presidential administration of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev.
“The events of that period should be evaluated by historians, not politicians. Armenia and the Armenian lobby turned the topic of the so-called genocide into an object of political bargaining. This is done in order to hide the crimes of the Armenians themselves in the South Caucasus and elsewhere. That is why the Armenians reject the Turkish proposal to create a joint commission to investigate the events of that time. A similar approach attempts to falsify history and use historical events for political pressure, are not acceptable,” the comment says. -02D-
