Bill on Establishment of New Orders, Medals Approved in Second Reading
Baku / 24.11.20 / Turan: The Parliament of Azerbaijan adopted draft amendments to the law "On the establishment of orders and medals of Azerbaijan" in the second reading on November 24.
According to the bill, it is planned to establish about 20 new orders and medals.
Among them are the orders "Zafar" ("Victory") and "Karabakh", the title "Hero of the Patriotic War", as well as medals "Brave Fighter", "For Distinction in Battle", "For the Liberation of Sugovushan", "For the Liberation of Jabrayil ","For the Liberation of Khojavend", "For the liberation of Fizuli", "For the Liberation of Zangilan", "For the Liberation of Gubadli", "For the Liberation of Shusha", "For the Liberation of Kalbajar", "For the Liberation of Aghdam", "For the Liberation of Lachin", "Participant of the Patriotic War", as well as "For Services in the Rear in the Patriotic War".
The "Zafar" order will be made of 900-carat gold and awarded to the commanders of units and higher command personnel of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces for the liberation of strategically important territories, settlements, regions or cities.
The "Karabakh" order will also be made of gold. It will be awarded to persons who demonstrated courage in the destruction of enemy personnel and equipment.
The title "Hero of the Patriotic War" will be awarded for military merits in defeating the enemy troops, as well as high professionalism in the management of combat operations or personal heroism in the restoration of the state borders of Azerbaijan.
In addition, the deputies adopted the draft amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Law "On Environmental Protection" in the second reading.
The parliamentarians also approved the draft decision on the establishment of the medal “100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry” in the second reading.— 06D-
