Baku/02.06.22/Turan: “We convey to the government our concern about the facts of human rights violations. We do this not only in Azerbaijan, but also in other countries,” stated the British Ambassador to Azerbaijan James Sharp, commenting on recent statements by the embassy about cases of human rights violations in Azerbaijan.
“This concern is expressed in our statements and press releases, as well as in personal contacts with the authorities. Sources of concern are such cases as attacks on journalist Ayten Mammadov, activist Bahtiyar Hajiyev, pressure during street actions,” the ambassador said. At the same time, he added that human rights are a broader concept and it includes the rights of national minorities, gender law, and the LGBT community. -16И-
