British Prime Minister on Azerbaijan's role in Europe's energy security
Baku/31.05.23/Turan: British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak sent a message on the occasion of the opening of the traditional international exhibition "Oil and Gas of the Caspian Sea" in Baku on May 31.
The message emphasized Azerbaijan's important role as a reliable partner in the global energy sector.
It ought to be noted that Azerbaijan's readiness to increase the volume of natural gas supplies to Europe to 20 bln cubic meters by 2027 will contribute to Europe's energy security.
At that, diversification of supplies is important from the point of view of stopping Russia's use of energy as a geopolitical weapon, Sunak emphasizes.
"I welcome Azerbaijan's efforts to develop the huge potential of renewable energy sources and turn the country into an exporter of green energy. To achieve these goals, cooperation with European partners is important," the message says.
Also, Sunak confirmed the UK's readiness to work with Azerbaijan for the transition to clean energy and to fight against the climate change. -06B-
