Cases of 26 more Armenian military accused of terrorism transferred to court
Baku/10.06.21/Turan: A preliminary investigation in the case of 26 more members of the armed formations of Armenia who committed terrorist acts, sabotage and were detained as a result of the anti-terrorist operation on December 13, 2020 has completed, a joint statement by the press services of the Prosecutor General's Office and the State Security Service.
The investigation carried out by the Main Investigation Department of the State Security Service established that a group of Armenian citizens illegally acquired firearms, ammunition, explosives and devices and formed armed formations not provided for by law.
On November 26-27, 2020, an organized group illegally crossed the state border of Azerbaijan, taking forest and other positions in the north-western part of the village of Hadrut. They attacked individuals, enterprises, institutions and organizations and organized explosions, fires and other terrorist acts posing a threat to the life and health of people.
These actions also pursued the goal of violating public security, sowing panic among the population or influencing decision-making by the state authorities of Azerbaijan or international organizations.
The defendants in the case are Mikaelyan Andranik Vazgenovich, Soghomonyan Setrak Samvelovich, Karapetyan Rafik Robertovich and others. Twenty six persons are charged under the Articles: 214.2.1, 214.2.3 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (terrorism by an organized group or criminal community of weapons), (the use of firearms) and items used as weapons), 228.3 (illegal acquisition of ammunition, explosives by an organized group); 279.2 (attacks on enterprises, departments, organizations by an armed group), and 318.2 (illegal border crossing by an organized group). The materials of the case were sent to the court for consideration.
Earlier, materials on the cases of 2 more groups from the indicated formations of 14 and 13 people were transferred to the court. — 06D-

On November 13, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Afghan Taliban held talks in Baku as part of the COP29 conference. According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.
