Ceyhun Bayramov held telephone conversation with acting Assistant Secretary of State
Baku/10.08.23/Turan: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with Acting US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia Yuri Kim.
The sides discussed the agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the US, the process of normalisation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the situation in the region, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
Bayramov stressed that under various pretexts Armenia deliberately aggravates the situation in the region, hinders the peace process, promoting false narratives such as "blockade" and "humanitarian crisis".
At the same time, he noted that "continuing claims to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, refusal to fully withdraw Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijani territories and interference in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan are unacceptable".
"In spite of the fact that Armenia continues provocations against the Lachyn border crossing point established by Azerbaijan on its sovereign territory, Azerbaijan creates conditions for the passage of Armenian residents in both directions," Bayramov continued.
Azerbaijan offered to use the Aghdam-Khankyandi road and other alternative routes to meet the needs of the Armenian population; however, the Armenian side prevents transportations along this route, which once again proves that statements about "blockade" and "humanitarian crisis" are "political manipulations", Bayramov noted. -06В-
