Consideration of the appeal against the CEC I.Mamedov is postponed indefinitely
Consideration of the complaint of Ilgar Mamedov took place at Baku Appeals Court due to the refusal of CEC to register him as a candidate for the presidency. According to the secretary of REAL, Natig Jafarli, the court decided to re-examine 4,500 signatures in favor of Mamedov, which CEC recognizes as false. The court did not specify the timing of the examination.
Jafarli called the court's decision odd, because the election campaign has already begun, and the court should take operative decision. "The lawyers have raised the issue of a court on the issues of court’s decision during one day," said Jafarli. Mamedov himself expressed dissatisfaction with tightening the court decision.
Mamedov called to vote for another opposition candidate, Jamil Hasanli, in case if he is not registered as a presidential candidate. The trial is postponed for indefinite time. -16C06-
