Court proceedings on Gagik Voskanyan's case started
Baku/04.12.23/Turan: A preparatory hearing on the case of Armenian serviceman Gagik Voskanyan, detained in the Kelbajar region, was held at the Sabunchu district court of Baku on 4 December.
The case is heard by a panel of judges chaired by judge Abdulla Mammadov of the Ganja court for serious crimes. Voskanyan is provided with a lawyer and an interpreter.
Voskanyan's personal details were specified: he was born in 1983 in Yerevan, is a citizen of Armenia, has secondary education. The hearing on the merits is scheduled for 11 December.
Add that Voskanyan was detained on 16 August this year on the Kelbajar direction of the border. According to the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry, he was a member of a sabotage and reconnaissance group.
Voskanyan was brought to criminal responsibility under Articles 206.3.2 (smuggling), 214.2.1 (terrorism), and 318.2 (illegal border crossing) of the Criminal Code. -0-

Germany is trying to prevent the escalation of the military conflict in Europe and is making efforts to do so. Speaking on November 22 at a press conference in Baku, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock responded to a question about whether Berlin would provide "Taurus" missiles to Kyiv after Russia's use of ballistic missiles against Ukraine. "Therefore, this question cannot be answered with a simple 'yes'," she said.
