Culture Minister Anar Kerimov sacked
Baku/22.12.22/Turan: Rumours circulating for several days about the dismissal of Culture Minister Anar Kerimov have now been confirmed.
A decree on Kerimov's resignation was published on the website of the head of state on 22 December.
No reason was given. Kerimov had been in his current post for only about a year. Before that, he was deputy Culture Minister. The then Minister, Abulfaz Karayev was sacked following a high-profile corruption scandal at the Ministry.
After Anar Kerimov's appointment, his deputy Elnur Aliyev had already been dismissed with scandal. Corruption was also reported as the reason. -02D-
