Six Armenian prisoners taken prisoner last night in Kalbajar - Ministry of Defense
Baku/27.05.21/Turan: On May 27, at about 3 a.m., a sabotage-reconnaissance unit of the Armenian Armed Forces attempted to enter the territory of Azerbaijan towards the village of Yukhary Ayrim in the Kelbajar district, the press service of the Defense Ministry said.
As a result of operational measures, 6 enemy soldiers who tried to mine supply routes leading to the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces were blocked and taken prisoner.
This morning, near the border, there was a concentration of several units of enemy military equipment, including tanks. As a result of measures taken, their movement was stopped.
The Azerbaijani Armed Forces are monitoring the operational situation.
In turn, the Armenian side confirmed the capture of 6 Armenian servicemen refuting the fact of the "sabotage raid". The Ministry of Defense of Armenia claims that the military were captured while carrying out engineering works on the territory of Armenia on the border with Azerbaijan in the Gegharkunik region.
The necessary measures are being taken to return the captured servicemen, the ministry says.
Let us remind you that there are about 60 Armenian soldiers in captivity in Azerbaijan. Charged with sabotage activities, they were detained in December in Karabakh (Hadrut), a month after the truce had been concluded. -02D-
