Russian President congratulated Azerbaijan on Republic Day
Baku/27.05.21/Turan: Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message of congratulations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the Republic Day on May 28.
"Azerbaijan has achieved considerable successes in social-economic, scientific, technical and other areas. Your country enjoys considerable prestige on the world stage and plays an active role in resolving many important issues of the international agenda.
We highly appreciate our relations with Azerbaijan which are based on good traditions of friendship and mutual respect. On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
