Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan Reports on Battles in Various Directions of Front

Baku / 28.10.20 / Turan: The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced the suppression of enemy attempts to attack in various directions of the front in the past day. These attacks were suppressed and the enemy, suffering losses, retreated.

"During the day on October 27 and on the night of October 28, units of the Armenian armed forces, not observing the humanitarian ceasefire, fired at positions of the Azerbaijani Army units in various directions of the front and settlements near the frontline zone from various types of weapons," the press release of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan says.

Combat operations continued mainly in the Agdere, Khojavend, Fizuli, Zanghilan and Gubadly areas of the front. The enemy's attempts to attack were decisively suppressed, and it retreated, suffering losses, the message goes on to say.

“As a result of the retaliatory measures taken against the armed forces of Armenia in various directions of the front, there are killed and wounded among the enemy personnel. Several units of enemy military equipment were destroyed. As a result of the damage inflicted on the enemy's artillery unit by fire, its guns and shells at the firing position were destroyed,” the message says.

It became known that a significant reduction in the number of enemy vehicles created problems with the supply of food, weapons and ammunition to units on the front line.

The process of sending reservists gathered from Armenia to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan continues. Despite the order to recruit 2,000 people to be recruited into hostilities, only 300 people were collected. Even many contract soldiers and policemen refuse to go to the front.

«Over the past day, a large number of manpower, as well as one Osa air defense system, three Grad MLRS, six D-30, five D-20, one Konkurs anti-tank missile system and six enemy vehicles have been destroyed and disabled in various directions of the front,» the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan says.

Currently, Azerbaijani troops are in control of the operational situation, the press release of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.

In another report, the Ministry notes that around 07.30 on October 28, the territories of the Terter region were subjected to artillery fire.   —06D-
