Trump is disappointed with the violation of the ceasefire in Karabakh
Baku/28.10.20/Turan: US President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment at the violation of the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"It's sad when you see this. This is what happens when two countries have been at war with each other for so long," the American leader said.
At the same time, the head of the White house expressed confidence that the truce will resume in the future.
Earlier, the US state Department said that Azerbaijan and Armenia reached an agreement on a humanitarian truce in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The ceasefire came into force on October 26 at 8:00 local time.
Despite the agreement on a truce, the Armenian Armed forces continue to fire at peaceful settlements in Azerbaijan.
On Tuesday, the villages of the Goranboy, Terter and Barda districts of the Republic were subjected to artillery and rocket attacks from the territories of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia.
At least four civilians were killed and 13 people, including women and children, were injured as a result of another shelling in the Barda district of Azerbaijan.
A two-year-old child is among the dead.
Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev said that cluster munitions prohibited by international conventions were used in the shelling of Barda, Anadolu Agency reports. -0—
