Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation discussed regional security issues in Baku
Baku/22.12.23/Turan: On December 21-22, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko held consultations on regional and European security issues with Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov in Baku, the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to the same source, Grushko was also received by the assistants of the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev, Elchin Amirbekov and the head of the committee of the Milli Majlis Samad Seyidov.
"A thorough exchange of views was held on the current situation in Transcaucasia and in the field of European security, including cooperation in the OSCE, the situation in the Council of Europe, relations between our countries with the European Union and NATO. Topical issues of the bilateral and international agenda were also touched upon.
The leading role and special responsibility of the States of the region in maintaining stability and security in the South Caucasus were emphasized. Both sides confirmed their commitment to maintaining a close dialogue on the issues of regional and European security," the message reads.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has not yet published information about Grushko's visit to Baku. -0-
