Detained Advisor to Chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party

Advisor to the Chairman of the Popular Front Party (PFPA), Mamed Ibrahim was detained on September 30 by the Narimanov District Police Office as a suspect under Article 221 (hooliganism). Ibrahim himself told this to PFPA Deputy Chairman Gezal Bayramli, calling her from the police.

As Bayramli wrote on her page on Facebook, Ibrahim was arrested on the complaint of Mikail Guliyev, a member of the group Congress of Confidence in PFPA headed by Razi Nurullayev. This group left the party some time ago.

According to Guliyev, Ibrahim allegedly insulted him in the street and attacked him. But Ibrahim said it was Guliyev who insulted and attacked him.

Law enforcement authorities have not commented on the detention of Ibrahim.   -03B-
