Baku / 29.07.20 / Turan: At about noon on Wednesday, the deputy chairman of the Musavat party, Faraj Karimli, was released from the capital's police.
He was taken from his home early in the morning under the pretext of participating in a rally on July 14-15 in support of the army.
The police showed him a photo of a man who looked like him. “I offered to watch the video. After viewing, it turned out that this is a different person. They took an explanatory note from me and let me go,” Karimli wrote on his Facebook page after returning from the police. –06D-

Police Take Adviser to Head of Musavat from His Apartment
Baku / 29.07.20 / Turan: Early in the morning on July 29, six persons in civilian clothes came to the apartment of Faraj Kerimov, an advisor to the head of the opposition Musavat party, and he was taken to the Baku Police Department. The chairman of the party Arif Hajili told Turan agency.
“Those who came introduced themselves and said that Faraj should go with them to find out the circumstances of his participation in the demonstration on July 14,” Hajili said.
After that, no information was received from Faraj Kerimov or law enforcement agencies, he noted.
In turn, the press service of the Baku Main Police Department, Turan said that they do not have information about Faraj Kerimov.
Note that Faraj Kerimov is a former political prisoner. In 2014, he was sentenced to 6.5 years on trumped-up drug trafficking charges. The sentence was later reduced to 3 years in prison. -03B-
