Edward Nalbandian: We Agree with Position of Co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group
Yerevan / 25.06.13/Turan-ArmInfo: Approaches of Armenia in the Karabakh settlement coincide with the position of the heads of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group of the OSCE. This was said on June 24 in Strasbourg by the Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, answering questions from PACE delegates.
Nalbandian noted that Armenia fully supports previous statements by heads of the United States, France and Russia, in contrast to Azerbaijan, which supports only one principle.
"Armenia has always declared its support of the three principles of non-use of force and threat, the right of peoples to self-determination and territorial integrity of state," said the Minister.
Responding to a question about whether the use of Armenia's chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers is a good opportunity to resolve the conflict, Nalbandian said that the Armenian side has no problem in establishing dialogue and negotiations. He recalled that dozens of meetings were held between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as several summits.
According to him, the only question is, which one of the parties rejects all the principles of the co-chairs, even those that are aimed at strengthening the confidence-building measures. He also said that in the coming days he would meet with the OSCE Minsk Group. -02D-
