Emergency Meeting of UN Security Council Due to Armed Conflict in Sea of Azov
Baku / 26.11.18 / Turan: Ukraine"s Permanent Representative to the UN called Moscow"s actions in the Kerch Strait "the insolent behavior of the aggressor" and called on the West for a coordinated response.
On Monday, November 26, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting due to the sharp exacerbation of the situation in the Kerch Strait. This was reported by the US Permanent Representative to the UN. According to her, consultations will take place at 11.00 local time (19.00 Moscow time).
As AFP reported, the meeting is convened on the initiative of the Ukrainian and Russian sides.
Recall that the Russian side closed the passage of three Ukrainian ships, en route from Odessa to Mariupol, and then seized them, accusing them of violating the border. During the clashes, 6 Ukrainian sailors were injured.
The authorities of Ukraine are considering the issue of martial law in the country. -02D-
